San Diego Taiwanese Center 13th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Dinner

Saturday, February 27, 2010 (All day)

The San Diego Taiwanese American Community Center has been open now for six months. This center has been designed to be the current and future home for current and future generations of San Diego Taiwanese Americans and all people interested in Taiwan. I hope each of you have had a chance to visit the new Taiwan Center.

While the Center has been open and in operation for several months, there are still a number of construction projects still going on. These projects are intended to make the Center even more beautiful and useful for groups of all ages. So, even if you don't use the Taiwan Center's facilities on a regular basis, make sure to stop by every once in a while to see what is new at the Taiwan Center. I think you'll be impressed.

In order to fund the current operations of the Taiwan Center and continue to grow the Taiwan Center so that it meets all current and future needs, the Taiwan Center relies on donations as its sole source of funding. This year the Taiwan Center will celebrate its 13th anniversary on February 27 with its annual fund raising dinner. The dinner will be a buffet style dinner to be hosted at the new Taiwan Center. The special guest speaker for this event will be UCSD Professor Liao Bing-hui. Musical entertainment will include performances by singer/pianist Wei Liang-su. More information about the event is contained in the attached PDF file.
Tickets for this fundraising event are $100 each. All proceeds go to support the Taiwan Center. All ticket purchases are 100% tax deductible as your ticket purchases are considered a charitable donation.

I, along with fellow TAP-SD organizer Kevin Jung, are promoting this fundraising dinner as we both serve on the Taiwan Center board of directors. Kevin and I represent the younger Taiwanese American voice on the board. We have seen first hand how hard the Taiwan Center has been working to be more inviting to the younger generation and encourage any and everyone who can afford to attend the anniversary celebration and fundraising dinner to do so.

If you have any interest in attending and wish to purchase tickets, please reply to this email. Kevin or I will respond promptly and arrange delivery of the tickets. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets directly from the Taiwan Center.

I hope to see some of you on the 27th!
